While playing 360 videos back in SPIN Play on a VR headset is ideal, sometimes we need to quickly preview the experience on our computer, tablet, or phone.
All videos on the SPIN Studio platform are playable through Google Chrome via the spinxr.com portal. If you have embedded interactivity into the experience (such as hyperports or gaze-triggered images) then you will be able to interact with them through the spinxr webplayer.
All videos and SPINs have unique nine-digit share keys that allow spinxr to access and play the content. Copy this key and paste it into the "Enter Your Share Key" field on spinxr.com. Alternatively, in SPIN Studio, click the "Share Via Web" button to open spinxr directly to the video or SPIN.
This is what the homepage of spinxr.com looks like. The white input field labeled "Enter Your Share Key" is where you can paste your nine-digit share key from SPIN Studio.
If you enter a share key to a single video and hit play, the video will automatically begin playing.
If you enter a share key to a SPIN and hit play, the entire playlist of videos will appear as a grid. Select a video to begin playing.
The symbols on the control bar function as follow from left to right: pause play, volume control (if visible), time remaining out of total time, quality selector, reset view to original orientation, and full screen mode. Note you can click on the green timeline to seek to different parts of the video.
- If the video appears low quality allow the playback to continue. Video quality will improve as the webplayer accesses faster internet.
- If you do not see volume control you browser window could be too slim. This is the default control layout slimmer devices like phone or tablets. Once you widen the window you will be able to see volume controls on the left and streaming quality on the right, by default set to automatic.
